WE ARE:

Greenery a legally registered Non-profit, Non-governmental association based in Kumbo- North West Province of Cameroon .

The Association aims at Promoting:

• The cultivation of Jatropha curcas in mixed farming for the production of Biofuels and other value added products; (Biofertilizer, Animal Fodder, Soap)
• Decentralised Renewable Energy production through the use of Biofuels for transportation, Biogas, Solar and micro hydro systems for power generation
• Sustainable Agricultural practices which seeks to minimize adverse impacts to the immediate and off-farm environments while providing a sustained level of production and profit.
• Capacity building through the promotion of local industries and human resource development in Jatropha/Biofuels, Renewable Energy and sustainable agricultural systems.
• The utilization of Jatropha oil in energy production for local development
  The Association is Promoting the cultivation of Jatropha curcas  and Sustainable Agricultural practices.

Jatropha curcas is a valuable multi-purpose crop which grows on baren land, has very little water requirements, grows relatively quickly and easy to propagate, alleviates soil degradation, hinders Desertification and Deforestation, produces oil which can be used as a fuel (Biofuel) to replace petro-diesel. By-products from Jatropha processing can be used in soap manufacturing, and press cake as biofertilizer and/or animal fodder. Jatropha is an effective tool for economic empowerment, social upliftment and poverty reduction within marginalized communities.

GREENERY has established an extensive partnership network with; Local NGOs, farmers, Women’s groups, Community Based Organisations, Civil Society groups, Local government councils as integral partners, Research and Development institutions, Technology companies, oil processing companies and, International Organisations etc as cooperation partners 

GREENERY seeks to provide its integral Network Partners with technical assistance –Through the provision of Jatropha seeds and nursed seedlings on micro credit schemes, and enters agreements with its partners that guarantee the buy back of their Jatropha produce, thereby creating market openings for Jatropha products

Amongst other activities, GREENERY also  organises and trains rural communities on Jatropha systems, encouraging farmers to see the potential benefits in cultivating jatropha curcas, which in the long run will serve as an alternative source of income through little investment.

In the future, GREENERY shall provide locally manufatured technology applications for jatropha products such :-

• Hand presses (for local extraction of Jatropha oil)
• Plant oil generators (for producing electricity with Jatropha oil)
• Plant oil stoves (reducing the pressure on forest wood by burning jatropha oil for cooking)
• Plant oil lamps (for lighting)
• Soap manufacturing
• Biofertilizer (replacing N P K fertilzers)

GREENERY assist its Network Partners with know-how and Technical assistance, for the cultivation of Jatropha curcas, production and utilization of Jatropha oil as biofuels for local development.

We at GREENERY belive that biofuels can greatly enhance energy supply in rural communities, improve local farmers income and living standards, and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
